TUSKEGEE, Ala. | Playing for just the third time at home this season, the Tuskegee University volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 3-0 (25-15,25-17,25-19) victory over Oakwood University at Chappie James Arena on Thursday night.
Tuskegee (14-11, 11-8 SIAC) was led by junior
Pamela Allen, the reigning SIAC Offensive Player of the Week, with 10 kills on 15 total attempts. She finished the night hitting .400, and two blocks.
Jamiah Breda-Nixon, the reigning SIAC Newcomer of the Week, finished with nine kills on 17 total attempts. She finished the night hitting .353 with five service aces and one block.
Sophomore
Morgan Scrivens led Tuskegee with 21 assists, while also adding five kills on 11 total attempts - while finishing the night hitting .182. She also finished with three service aces, two digs and a block.
Jacqueline Wilson finished with five kills, while
Janae Graham finished with three service aces and
Zahria Radford with 11 digs and two service aces.
Tuskegee finished the night hitting .224, while holding Oakwood to .022 hitting in the three sets.
Andrea Blake led Oakwood, as she finished with 10 of the team's 11 kills. Mariah Moore led the visitors with five assists, while Jordan Brown finished the night with six digs.
The Tigerettes return to action Monday night against Huntingdon College at Chappie James Arena. The match is schedule to begin at 6 pm.
