TUSKEGEE, Ala. | Austin Cherry came off the bench to paced four players in double figures for Tuskegee, but it wasn't enough as Terrance Bridgeman paced four players in double figures for Lane, as the Golden Tigers fell 74-62.
Cherry scored 13 points to lead Tuskegee (9-6, 5-3 SIAC), while
Kevin May added 12 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists.
Camden Foster scored 10 points (5-of-12) from the floor and grabbed seven rebounds, while
Thomas Massey scored a career-high 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.
The Golden Tigers shot 38.2 (21-of-55) percent from the floor and 24 (6-of-25) percent from beyond the arc. They also connected on 82.4 (14-of-17) percent from the free throw line, while forcing 16 Lane turnovers.
Lane (11-8, 7-2 SIAC) was led by Terrance Bridgeman with 15 points and six rebounds, while Joseph Cooper 13 points. Maurice Alexander and Devontay Clark added 10 points, while Clark grabbed seven rebounds.
The Dragons connected on 54.9 (28-of-51) percent from the floor, while hitting on 37.5 (3-of-8) from beyond the arc. They also shot 68.2 (15-of-22) percent from the free throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 35-32.
The Golden Tigers trailed for much of the first, getting as close as two late in the half before having to battle back in the second half. They were able to get to within a point at 50-49 with 10:23 to play in the contest.
Trailing 50-43 with 11:56 to go, Cherry, Massey and Foster all hit baskets to get the Golden Tigers within a point on a 7-0 run. Unfortunately, Lane answered with a 13-1 run over the next few minutes to pull away for the win.
Tuskegee returns to action Saturday against LeMoyne-Owen in SIAC action. Tip is schedule for 3 pm inside Chappie James Arena.
