Golden Tigers hit the road Wednesday to face Clark Atlanta

Tuskegee in search of second consecutive victory

TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University men's basketball will look for their second consecutive victory, hitting the road to face Clark-Atlanta University Wednesday night at L.S. Epps Gymnasium in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) men's basketball action.

The game tips at 8 pm (est) and can be heard on the Tuskegee Digital Network.

Tuskegee (1-8, 0-1 SIAC) enters the game fresh off a 12-day break following their first victory of the season over Johnson C. Smith 61-52 back on December 4. In that contest, the Golden Tigers trailed just three times en route to the victory with four players in double figures - including a double-double by Joshua Culver, his first of the season.

Sophomore James Eads, a preseason All-SIAC selection, leads Tuskegee this season by averaging 17 points per game. The sophomore has scored in double figures in seven of the eight games he has played in during the season, including seven consecutive games in double figures. The only game he was held out of double figures came against Palm Beach Atlantic (11/11/16) in the season opener, a game in which he was in early foul trouble. The sophomore also went on an early season tear, scoring 71 points in three games - including a career-high 31 against Montevallo - averaging 23.7 points per game during the stretch.

Junior point guard Travis Flagg is second on the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game, and leads the team in assists with 22 - eight more than any other player (Dominic Norton - 14). The junior is averaging 2.4 assists on the season. After being held below double digits in scoring in the first three games of the season, Flagg responded with five consecutive games in double figures including a career-high 19 against Montevallo.

A pair of freshman - Myles Thomas and Alex Perry - continue to leave a mark on the program as they are fourth and fifth on the team in scoring through the first nine games. Thomas is averaging 6.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, scoring a career-high 15 points against Georgia College; while Perry is averaging 5.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, including a career-high 14 against Bluefield State. Perry narrowly missed a double-double this season when he finished with 10 points and eight rebounds against William Jewell.

The Golden Tigers continue to play without two projected starters - Elijah McMillan and Daniel Roach - who combined for 14.8 points per game last season, with McMillan listed as day-to-day and Roach expected back in January.
