ATLANTA | The Tuskegee University women's tennis team rebounding from their season-opening loss with a 6-3 victory over Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member Clark Atlanta her Sunday afternoon.
Tuskegee (1-1) used wins near the top slots in singles and at number five to seal the overall win, only after winning two points in doubles play.
Entering doubles competition, Tuskegee held a 1-0 advantage following a forfeit at number three singles, the number one doubles team of
Reicia North and
Monica Thomas won their first match of the season over Avern Gumbs and Tori Pradler of Clark Atlanta, 8-5.
Tuskegee held a 2-1 advantage with singles action underway and they clinched the match with wins by Thomas (number two),
Kimberly Bowen (three) and
Navilla Paul (five).
Tuskegee returns to action Tuesday on the road against the University of West Alabama, beginning at 1 pm.
