Tuskegee ended its season on day one of the 2017 SIAC Volleyball Tournament,falling in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-16) to Benedict College Wednesday night at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Golden Tigers were much improved from its match to Clark Atlanta earlier in the day. Tuskegee and first year head coach
Janay Yancey were making an attempt to climb out of the losers bracket, but instead ended the season at (6-29, 3-8).
Cyrani Butler led the team with 13 kills with Crystal Hall adding 10. Brianna Fisher paced TU in assists and digs with 30 and 10 respectively. Angela Goode accounted for four blocks.
The Tuskegee University Volleyball team fell in straight sets 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-18) to Clark Atlanta in first round action of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament Thursday afternoon in Birmingham, Ala. inside the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Golden Tigers were only able to generate a hitting percentage of -.032 versus .403 for CAU, a team that defeated TU 3-0 back in September. As a result of the loss, Tuskegee now heads to the losers bracket to face Benedict for a 4 p.m. match. The winner of this contest will play Friday at 1 p.m. and the loser is eliminated.
Cyrani Butler led the team with seven Kills followed by Crystal Hall Brianna Fisher notched 20 assists while Zahria Radford earned eight digs.
