Tuskegee ends four-game losing streak

TUSKEGEE, Ala. -  The Tuskegee University men's basketball team ended their four-game skid against Auburn-Montgomery at home on Tuesday with a double-digit win, led by four players in double figures, in a 60-49 non-conference victory.

Tuskegee (6-17, 5-9 SIAC) finished the night shooting 36.8 (23-of-57) percent from the floor and 29.2(7-of-24) from beyond the arc. They also finished the night shooting 63.6 (7-of-11) percent from the free throw line, and turned the ball 12 times on Tuesday night. The Golden Tigers were outrebounded by AUM 44-28 on the night.

The Golden Tigers would get onto the board first with a silky smooth jumper by James Eads who was one of four Golden Tigers to finish in double figures. Both teams would struggle shooting for the majority of the first half with only 17 combined shots made. The Golden Tigers found themselves trailing for the majority of the half until they found just their second lead after a layup by Joshua Culver to make it 18-16 with 04:14 remaining.

The half would end in a low scoring tie 20-20 after a layup by Elijah McMillian as the half expired.

The Golden Tigers battled with the Warhawks in the early stages of the second half as the largest margin would be three points for the first five minutes. However after a deep three pointer from Myles Thomas the Golden Tigers would start to push their lead into double digits.

Tuskegee had four players in double figures led by James Eads with 13 points, Myles Thomas 12, while Alex Perry and Travis Flagg finished with 10 points each.

The Golden Tiger smanaged to pull away for the remainder of the second half, and would manage never to lose the lead again in the second half as they would contain their double digit lead of 11 points to win.

The Golden Tigers return to action Saturday against conference opponent Fort Valley State University on the road at 6:00 pm (est).
