Four different players hit home runs Friday afternoon and the Tuskegee University baseball team throttled Lane College from Morris Field in a 16-4 victory in game one of a three-game series.

The Golden Tigers scored the first 11 runs before the Dragons could even get on the scoreboard. In the first inning with the team already up 1-0, Mathew Reed started the onslaught when he homered to left field, scoring Lane Williams. Elgin Woodside pounded out a two-run homer in the second inning and all of a sudden, TU led 6-0 after only two innings of play. Dominic Johnson's solo shot also contributed to the mix.

TU hit its fourth and final home run in the fourth inning after Gabriel Selochan homered down the left field line. He finished at the plate going 3-of-4 with four runs along with an RBI.

Reed had the most efficient day for the Golden Tigers earning hits on four of his five at bats with a pair of runs scored and an RBI. Williams and Woodside notched three RBI apiece.

Trey Nelson pitched his second complete game striking out seven batters. He gave up four runs on eight hits.
