The Tuskegee University softball team combined for a total of four hits in a pair loses to Miles College Saturday afternoon. The Golden Tigers fell 5-1 and 7-1 respectively in its doubleheader with the Golden Bears after stealing game one of the series Friday evening.
After falling behind 5-0 through the first four innings, TU did not earn its first and only run until
Camira Sanders singled to left field, scoring
Shambrinetta Adams. The only other Golden Tiger to notch a hit was
Kyah Dumas who was 1-of-3 at the plate. She also picked up the loss for Skegee pitching six innings and allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out one batter.
Kendruena McPherson earned the victory for the Golden Bears striking out nine TU batters.
In game two,
Jasmyne Lawrence scored on an Adams sacrifice fly to put the Golden Tigers ahead early in the first inning, but Miles produced seven unanswered runs to claim a 7-1 win to secure the series victory.
Chelsea Mowery pitched the entire game seven runs on nine hits...but only three of those were earned runs.
Tuskegee closes out its regular season hosting Edward Waters Sunday, April 29 in a doubleheader that gets underway at 12:00 p.m.
