Nothing came easy for the Tuskegee University baseball team on Tuesday, as they fell 10-4 to Georgia Southwestern State in Montgomery (Ala.) at Paterson Field, It would be the last tuneup beofre hostinf Morehouse College this weekend in a three-game series.
GSW got things moving in the second inning, when Clark singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. After the Canes cored one run in the top of the fifth, the Golden Tigers answered with one of their own when Tyari Albright's sac fly scored on a run
The Canes took the lead for good with six runs in the fourth inning. Tyler got the start for GSW. He went three and a third innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out six.
Joshua Lewis led things off on the hill for the Golden Tigers. He lasted three innings, allowing five hits and six runs. Lajerrius Haralson, Keldric Burton, Devon Shaw, and Gabriel Selochan each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, two innings, one and two-thirds innings, and one-third of an inning respectively.
Matthew Reed went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead TU in hits. The Golden Tigers Varsity proved to be sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Dominic Johnson had the most chances in the field with eight.
Tuskegee ends its season this weekend during Breast Cancer Awareness/Senior Day weekend. The Golden Tigers will host rival Morehouse in a doubleheader that starts at noon Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday
