The Tuskegee University baseball team opened the week's slate with an 18-8 defeat at the hands of the University of Alabama-Huntsville at Charger Park on Tuesday afternoon. TU dips to 6-23 while UAH improves to 18-15.
Matthew Reed helped get the Golden Tigers on the scoreboard first when he grounded out to second base bringing home
Ryan Green. Over the next two innings, UAH went on to score eight unanswered runs until TU responded scoring three more runs from Green,
Dominic Johnson and
Lane Williams.
In the Chargers second-highest scoring effort so far this season,
Nolan Ramsey led the way for the Blue & White going 5-for-6 at the plate with a team-high six RBI which included a grand slam in the second and a game-ending two-RBI double in the eighth
Willimas had a solid day at the plate for the Golden Tigers going a perfect 3-of-3 with three runs scored along with an RBI. Johnson and Green both finished the day with a pair of hits and two RBI, while
Christian Marshall was 2-of-4 with two RBI.
Lajerrius Haralson allowed six runs on four hits and fell to 0-1 on the season.
Nytorious Cooler pitched 4.2 innings surrendering seven runs on 11 hits whlile retiring three batters.
Tuskegee opens a three game series with Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
