Tuskegee's rally fell short in a 5-4 elimination game against Kentucky State Friday evening at Paul Eams Ballpark in Albany, (Ga,). The loss ends the 2018 season on day two of the SIAC Baseball Tournament. The Golden Tigers allowed Miles College to come from behind in a 4-3 loss earlier in the day sending them to the losers bracket.
The Golden Tigers got on the board first when
Ryan Green scored on a throwing error from KSU's catcher, giving TU a 1-0 lead. The Thorobreds would respond with a four-run fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead.
TU tied the game with a sixth inning rally when
Gabriel Selochan laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored
Tayari Albright. Moments later,
Kyler Wells, who made his first appearance in the tournament singled down the right field line scoring
Ryan Green and
Dominic Johnson evening the score at 4-4.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the ninth inning when Russell Sims doubled to center field in which Bryan Wilson scored the game winning run and ending Tuskegee's season. Selochan and
Nytorious Cooler both pitched 4.1 innings of play. Selochan struck out four batters with Cooler retiring three.
Green has the biggest day at the plater going 2-of-4 with a pair of runs scored. Albright, Johnson and Woodside also notched one hit each.
