A strong first inning for Spring Hill College would be enough to hold the Tuskegee University softball team off in game one of a three-game series in Mobile, Ala. The Golden Tigers fell short 3-0 with games two and three set for Saturday afternoon.

An RBI single to left field by Fillmore drove in the first run for the Badgers to make the score 1-0. Thomas would later score on a wild pitch followed by Fillmore scoring after Jamison grounded out, a run that gave SHC 3-0 lead to round out the scoring.

TU was only able to manufacture three hits on the day. Two of the came from Cecelia Tennessee who was 2-of-3 at the plate. Myracle Hawkins earned the team's only other hit. The Golden Tigers did however hold its opponent to only four hits as well.

Jamea Lyons was credited with the loss for TU. She pitched six innings and allowed three runs on four hits all while striking out two batters. Lyons now drops to 4-8 on the season. Brenton earned the win for the Badgers and improved to 6-5

TU will conclude its three-game set with SHC Saturday with a double header that starts at 12:00 p.m.
