The Tuskegee University volleyball team won its second consecutive match Thursday evening inside the Chappie James Center by defeating Oakwood College 3-0. It would mark back to back games in which the Golden Tigers defeated an opponent in straight sets. The final scores happened in a dominating fashion (25-13, 25-12, 25-6).

TU was paced in kills by Crystal Hall (12), Erin Jackon (8) and Donovan Wingfield (8).  The Golden Tigers outscored Oakwood in points 59-13, kills 39-9, Aces 18-1 and in assists, 37-9. 

Jayla Garrett led the way in assists with 18 while  Santana Lewis  was on her heels adding 17. Syncere Ellis (9), Erin Moore (6), Santana Lewis (5) rounded out scoring in the digs category.

Dating back to 2017, Tuskegee has now won all three meetings in its series series with Oakwood. 

The Golden Tigers only allowed a hitting percentage on average of -.114 from Oakwood, a season high defensively.

Skegee will remain off before hitting the road on Sept. 23 for the SIAC Crossover at LeMoyne Owen.
