Fairfield, Ala. -- Myles Thomas' 21 Point performance led the Golden Tigers to a 86-65 victory over the Lane College Dragons.
In the final home game for the 2019-2020 basketball season, the Golden Tigers were dialed in after shooting 54.26 (30-for-57) percent from the floor.
The Golden Tigers opened the first half with back to back three pointers by Greg Boyd and Thomas. Lane College Guard Tyler Henry scored to chip into Tuskegee's lead 8-3.
Boyd was one of four Golden Tigers who scored double digits in the contest with 17 points, three assists, and two steals.
Lane College saw their biggest lead in the first half at 11:46 after a layup from Lane's Daniel Hill put the Dragons up 13-12. The slim lead lasted just 13 seconds as Kaleb Morton drained a jumpshot to give Tuskegee back the lead 14-13.
Morton, another Golden Tiger scoring in double figures, finished with 11 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
James Eads led The Golden Tigers on a 13-5 run which lasted 5:34 which put the Golden Tigers up 29-18 (4:22). Eads contributed 19 points and six rebounds , shooting 43.7 (7-for-16) percent from the floor.
Tuskegee went into the half with a 38-26 lead over Lane College.
The Golden Tigers came out of the half pouring on points, with a 10-2 run lasting 2:47 in the second half to extend the lead 48-29 (17:13). Tuskegee saw their biggest lead six minutes later with a three pointer from Tre Foster put The Golden Tigers up 61-34 with 11:24.
The Golden Tigers held a double figure lead for the rest of the contest as the Golden Tigers improved to 14-9, 13-4 SIAC.
Following the game, Tuskegee honored four Seniors, Myles Thomas, James Eads, Joshua Culver, and DeShawn Whitehorn.
Coach Taylor following the game announced that James Eads' number 13 along with Myles Thomas's number 23 will be retired following the 2019-2020 season.
The Golden Tigers will travel to Memphis, Tennessee to face off against LeMoyne Owen College on Thursday February 20th.
