COLUMBIA, S.C. – In a battle of unbeaten teams in conference play, Benedict (11-0, 7-0 SIAC) proved to be too much for Tuskegee (8-3, 7-0 SIAC) with a in the Southern Intercollegiate Football Championship game with a 58-21 final inside of Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

Benedict got out to an early two-score lead in the first quarter, scoring first off a short yardage run, followed by a special teams score recovering a botched snap from the Golden Tigers punt team with 3:20 remaining in the quarter.

Tuskegee responded on their next drive, torching the Benedict defense with a 75-yard connection from
Bryson Williams (Lithonia, Ga,) to
Antonio Meeks (Lilburn, Ga.) on first down to get on the board, however the score was followed by another score from Benedict, this time a rush from 22 yards out to extend the score to 21-7 before the end of the first.
After another Golden Tiger possession stalled, Benedict scored again to start the second quarter. However, Williams found Meeks once again for a 66-yard touchdown to pull the score to 28-14 with just under 12 minutes to go in the half, and scored two more times to end the half, leading at the break 42-14.

The second half remained a struggle for Tuskegee, as continued to struggle, scoring just one more time in the remainder of the game, while Benedict tied a season-high with 58 points in the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Tuskegee was outgained by Benedict by a total of 573 (77 plays) to 242 (50 plays). Benedict ran for 236 yards to just 41 for Tuskegee, along with passing for 337 to 201 for the Golden Tigers.
- Williams finished the day going 5-for-13 through the air for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Drelon Monroe (Prairieville, La.) came in to close out the game and went 2-for-4 for 17 yards and one score.
- Meeks notched another game with multiple touchdown receptions on the day, catching three passes for 158.7 yards (58.7 per catch) and two scores.
- Meanwhile, freshman Chase Sellers (Lawrenceville, Ga.) led the way on the ground with 69 yards on eight carries, while both Donte Edwards (Mobile, Ala.) and Taurean Taylor (Scottdale, Ga.) were held in check, combining for just 32 yards rushing.
- Vincent Hill (Fairburn, Ga.) and Malik Moore (Tallahasse, Fla.) led the way defensively with nine and eight tackles respectively, with Hill recording five solos and four assisted, along with Moore also having five solos, with three assists.
