TUSKEEGEE, Ala. | Tuskegee men's basketball defeated Lane 66-61 at home in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game on Thursday evening inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.
The Golden Tigers took home the victory after outscoring the Dragons 46-38 in the second half, including making 23 of 33 free throws in the half en route to secure the game after trailing at the break.
Tuskegee (14-11, 10-6 SIAC) finished the game shooting 36.6 (15-for-41) percent from the field and 67.4 (35-for-52) from the free throw line, while Lane shot 34.0 (16-for-47) percent from the field, just 14.3 (2-for-14) percent from three and 79.4 (27-for-34) percent from the charity stripe.
Deshawn Millington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Tuskegee offensively with 13 points on 4-for7 shooting, seven rebounds and two assists.
Devin Booker (Chicago, Ill.) added 12 points and two rebounds in 31 minutes of play, while
Martez Jones (Tuskegee, Ala.) scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 18 minutes. Three Tigers finished with nine points in
Deveraux Davis (Minneapolis, Minn.),
Steve Dulley (Kansas City, Mo.), and
Reco Hallmon (Atlanta, Ga.).
Tyran Davis led Lane in the game, finishing with 16 points and five rebounds, while Justin Sylver added 15 points, eight rebounds and a block.
