TUSKEGEE, Ala. I Tuskegee (9-12, 8-6 SIAC) fell in the Sunday matchup 20-12 to close out the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series against Albany State at Washington Field.

The Golden Rams took control of the game in the first inning, scoring 13 runs on five hits and two errors. Tuskegee chipped away at the lead in the bottom of the frame after a double from
Albert Gonzalez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to drive in three runs with the bases loaded. The Golden Tigers added another run later in the inning with a single from
Richard Smith (Birmingham, Ala.) to score Gonzalez to make the score 13-4 after one.

After three more Golden Ram runs, Tuskegee added to their total in the third and fourth with two scores off an error, followed by another RBI double from Gonzalez to score
Corey Stallings (Richton Park, Ill.). They added another pair of runs in the fifth when
Alex Glass (Birmingham, Ala.) scored on a wild pitch and Smith crossing the plate for the second time for the 17-9 score heading into the sixth.

Tuskegee held Albany State to just three runs for the remainder of the game yet could not complete the comeback as they fell short with 12 runs.

Jalan Daniels (Atlanta, Ga.) picked up the loss on the mound after starting the game, while
Tyler Baker (Mobile, Ala.),
Deangelo Nowell (Atlanta, Ga.), and
Maizen Price (Charlotte, N.C.) all contributed to the game. Meanwhile, the Golden Tigers registered seven hits on the day, led by three batters with two hits, including Stallings who led at the plate going 2-for-4 and three runs.

Tuskegee remain at home in their next game with a midweek battle against nearby Auburn-Montgomery on Tuesday, March 29. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Washington Field.
