Tuskegee falls in non-conference road doubleheader against Point

WEST POINT, Ga. I Tuskegee (22-11, 15-1 SIAC) dropped a Wednesday doubleheader against Point by scores of 6-3 and 10-1 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play.

The Golden Tigers struggled to start the game on Wednesday, giving up a run in the first and a pair in the second to find themselves down 3-0 after two.
 
Tuskegee found their bats in the third, earning two hits in the frame with singles from Jada Chadwick (Columbus, Ga.) and Kayla Wright (Millbrook, Ala.), though both were left on base to end the inning.
 
After three more Skyhawk runs in the bottom of the fifth, Wright started off the sixth for the Golden Tigers with another single and scored along with Chadwick later in the inning on a bunt single from Dyamond Brown (McDonough, Ga.). Brown later scored after stealing third on a sacrifice bunt from Nylah Strange-Lindley (Sulphur Springs, Texas) to make the score 6-3.
 
Wright led Tuskegee from the plate, going 3-for-4 and scoring a run, while Brown added a hit, run and two runs batted in, followed by Chadwick who earned a hit and scored on the day.

Ayriana Stoneback (Notasulgia, Ala.) picked up the loss in the circle, pitching all six innings, allowing seven hits and walking two while striking out three batters.

The Skyhawks controlled game two, gaining control in the second inning by scoring six runs off six hits and one error from Tuskegee.
 
The Golden Tigers got on the board in the fourth, when Strange-Lindley singled to center field to start off the inning, and later scored after stealing second off an error from Point.
 
Point added two more runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close out the game for the 10-1 final.
 
Strange-Lindley led Tuskegee at the plate with a pair of hits and a score, while Brown also earned a hit on the day. Meanwhile, Kaeley Roldan (Wahiawa, Hi.) picked up the loss, working 6.0 innings, allowing 13 hits.

Up Next
Tuskegee will return home this weekend with a three-game series against Kentucky State, starting with a 12 noon Saturday doubleheader and a third game on Sunday, all at TU Softball Field.
