TUSKEGEE, Ala. I Tuskegee (10-22, 8-14 SIAC) dropped a trio of games over the weekend against Spring Hill by scores of 19-2, 13-2 and 18-2 at Washington Field in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play.
The Golden Tigers fell behind early in the series opening game on Saturday, surrendering five runs each in the first two innings. Spring Hill also added four scores in the third, two in the fourth and a final three in the fifth in the win.
Alex Glass (Birmingham, Ala.) scored the first run for Tuskegee in teh bottom of the second after drawing a walk and later scoring on a wild pitch, while also earning an RBI in the fourth inning on a groundout to score
Albert Gonzalez (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
Game two started with a scoreless first inning before the Badgers gained control with four runs in the second and six in the third to take an early 10-0 lead. They later added another three in the fifth, before a response from Tuskegee in teh final two innings.
The Golden Tigers added runs in the sixth and seventh innings, first with a score from
Harrison Barnes (Cincinnati, Ohio) on a passed ball, followed by an RBI single from
Cody Willis (Montgomery, Ala.) to score
Evan Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala.).
Savontae Williams (Riverdale, Ga.) started on the mound in game one, going four innings and allowing 14 hits while striking out five, followed by
Maizen Price (Charlotte, N.C.) threw three innings in relief, allowing four hits out of the bullpen.
Tyler Baker (Mobile, Ala.) started game two, working three innings and allowing ten hits with two strikeouts, followed by
Kameron Keller (Chicago, Ill.) and
Robert Snead (Powder Springs, Ga.) who both pitched in relief.
Caleb Cobb (Hockley, Texas) and Gonzalez both earned hits in both games on Saturday, while
Richard Smith (Birmingham, Ala.) and Willis both earned hits in game two.
After giving up a run to start the day on Sunday,
Joshua Lewis (Huntsville, Ala.) drew a leadoff walk and stole second during the next at-bat before later scoring on an RBI single up the middle from Gonzalez to tie the game.
The Badgers added another pair of runs in the second, however the Golden Tigers crossed the plate again in the bottom of the frame after a double from Glass who later scored on a Spring Hill error to make the score 3-2 heading into the third.
Spring Hill gained control once again in the next inning, with seven runs on three hits in the frame. They added another five runs in the fifth and three in the sixth for the win.
Tuskegee earned three hits in the series finale from Barnes, Glass, and Gonzalez, who all went 1-for-3 from the plate.
Hunter Hudson (Montgomery, Ala.) earned the start in the final game on Sunday, allowing nine hits and striking out two, followed by
Deangelo Nowell (Atlanta, Ga.) who worked one and a third innings. Meanwhile,
Jaylen Hill (Jonesboro, Ga.) and
Malaki Roberts (St. Petersburg) also came in out of the bullpen in the loss.

The Golden Tigers will conclude the regular season next weekend on the road with a three-game series against Kentucky State. First pitch for Friday's doubleheader is set for 12 noon, while the final game of the series will be on Saturday at 1 p.m.
