ALBANY, Ga. – In their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action of the season, Tuskegee fell short in a pair of matches on Saturday as part of the Albany State Crossover.
The Golden Tigers battled Savannah State in the first match, dropping a close opening set by a score of 25-19. After a tough second set, Tuskegee once again kept it close in the third and final set of the match before falling 25-18.
Keniah McRuffin (Red Oak, Texas) and
Erin Jackson (Marietta, Ga.) led the way with five kills each, while
Mikea Allen (Montgomery, Ala.) finished with seven assists.

In game two, the Golden Tigers struggled with miscues with 26 total attack errors, compared to just eight by Edward Waters. McRuffin led the team offensively with nine kills; however, Tuskegee was swept by scores of 25-9, 25-12, and 25-14.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jackson and McRuffin continued to lead offensively, with McRuffin ending the day with 14 total kills, four digs and an assist. Jackson accounted for 11 kills, four digs and an assist.
- Allen dished out 20 total assists on the day, the freshman dished out 13 against Edward Waters in the second contest.
- Freshman Jeilin Robinson (Tampa, Fla.) had a double-digit dig effort, with 14 total but ten against Edward Waters.
