MOBILE, Ala. – Entering Wednesday night on the road against Spring Hill, the Tuskegee men's basketball team has not lost since a January 6 meeting against Benedict, riding a five-game win streak, with all five being SIAC contests.
The Golden Tigers (8-11, 7-6 SIAC) will remain on the road to battle the Badgers on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
When last seen, Tuskegee earned a win over rival Miles after a buzzer beating layup and foul shot from junior
Martez Jones, who finished with a game-high 19 points and eight rebounds. Jones has led the Golden Tigers so far on the year, with averages of 14.3 points and 10.5 rebounds, along with a league-leading eight double-doubles.
Meanwhile,
Kusamae Draper and
D'Anthony Pennington also average double figures, with numbers of 13.3 and 13.2 points respectively. All three leading scorers rank among the top-20 in the conference.
Spring Hill (11-8, 8-5 SIAC) enters the contest after falling to Miles, 65-46, in Fairfield to snap a five-game win streak from the Badgers. The Badgers also rank third in field goal percentage (45.1 percent) and three-point percentage (35.7 percent), while ranking second in threes made at 158.
SHC is ranked fourth in the conference in scoring at 77.5 points per game, led by Walter Peggs Jr. at (18.4 ppg), third in the league and Isaiah Veal (15.6 ppg), who sits at seventh in the SIAC.
