ATLANTA, Ga. __ Junior
Anaya Martin has been named the SIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week following her strong performance at the Georgia Tech Invitational on October 4, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Martin led the Tuskegee women's cross country team in the 6k event at Bouckaert Farm, finishing with a time of 24:32.46. She placed 64th overall in a highly competitive field of over 190 runners from various NCAA divisions.
Her impressive time was instrumental in helping Tuskegee finish 17th overall in the team standings with an average time of 26:51.63.
This recognition is the second of the season for Martin, after earning the honor last month after competing in the Montevallo Classic. As the team heads into the heart of their season, Martin's performance sets the tone for more successes in upcoming meets.
