Previous School: Played in eight games as a sophomore at Mercer... Played in 10 games as a backup wide receiver and a member of the special teams unit during redshirt freshman campaign... Finished with three receptions for 22 yards... Also tallied five total tackles (3 solo, 2 assisted)... Grabbed first career catch in a win over Reinhardt (Aug. 28).

High School: A three-sport standout in football, basketball and track at Baylor High School in Chattanooga (Tenn.)... Lettered all four years of high school career in both football and basketball and once in track & field... Was an All-State and All-Region player at Baylor in 2012... Maintained a 3.7 GPA and was a National Merit Scholar and member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Chandra Freeman and Jeff Bowens, Sr. of Chattanooga (Tenn.)... Has four siblings.
