Golden Tigers Fall to the Eckerd College Tritons

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers' men's basketball team fell to Eckerd College 82-68, dropping to 3-3 on the season.

The first half started rocky for Tuskegee, they were down 7-0 within the first minute of the contest. The Golden Tigers' first points came at the hands of Kevin May with 18:39 remaining in the half. After a steal and layup by David Alexander, Tuskegee cut the Tritons' led to three. Alexander went to the line to make it a three-point play. The remainder of the first followed the same pattern, with TU down but battling back to close the gap. At the buzzer, Eckerd held an 11-point lead, 43-32 over Tuskegee.

Camden Foster led the Golden Tigers with eight points, three rebounds and two steals, while Vladmir Tilme added seven points, three rebounds and one steal. Alexander put up five points; two rebounds and one steal to help pace Tuskegee's offensive attack.

The second half began with EC extending their lead with an in the paint layup. The Golden Tigers response was a three-point basket by May. Alexander posted a crucial steal and dunked to slice Eckerd's lead to eight. With a defensive rebound by Alexander, Foster was able to get inside the paint for a layup to reduce the point deficit to six. With just under 7:30 remaining, EC built a dominant lead. Unable to rally a comeback, Tuskegee fell by 14.

Tilme and Alexander ended the game tied as the leading scorer with 15-points. Tilme also had seven rebounds and two steals, while Alexander added three rebounds, two steals and one assist. Foster had 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. May finished with 10 points, three assists and two steals.

The Golden Tigers (3-3) will be back in action on Friday night against Florida Southern College (8-0) in Lakeland, Florida. Tip-off inside the Jenkins Field House is set for 6:00 p.m ET.
