MONTGOMERY | Spring Hill College swept a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader from Tuskegee University, blanking the Golden Tigers in both games 13-0 and 8-0.

Spring Hill (25-14, 15-2 SIAC), the West Division leaders, used three homeruns in the opener to power by Tuskegee 13-0. The Badgers led just 1-0 after the second inning, before exploding for five runs in the second and six more in the third for the victory.

Trey Nelson (3-3) suffered his first conference loss of the season, working 6.2 innings and allowed eight earned runs off 11 hits while striking out three in the opener.

Ryan Green picked up a pair of hits for Tuskegee (9-23, 5-9 SIAC) in the opener, going 2-for-3.
Ricky Green went 1-for-1, walked and was hit by a pitch in the opener as Tuskegee was held to just six hits by Spring Hill starter Wesley Parrish (7-3).

In the nightcap, Spring Hill used a one-hitter by Dylan Kiene (7-2) to finish off the sweep of Tuskegee 8-0.

The Badgers were able to get eight hits, including Michael Druhan's 11th homerun of the season in the win.

Jordyn Thomas (2-2) suffered the loss, working 5.1 innings and allowing eight runs off seven hits while striking out four.
Christian Marshall worked the final 1.2 innings, allowing just one hit.

The games were part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Day for Tuskegee baseball in which the Golden Tigers helped to raise $3,045 for the Joy to Life Foundation.

The two teams finish the series tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm at Paterson Field. Admission is free.
