MONTEVALLO, Ala. I Tuskegee (10-19, 8-11 SIAC) dropped a midweek battle against Montevallo by a score of 12-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Bob Reisner Stadium.

The Golden Tigers trailed early in the road contest, finding themselves down 5-0 after the first inning. Montevallo added to their lead with runs in the third and fourth, before taking a 10-0 with a three-score fifth.

Tuskegee got on the board in the top of the sixth inning, starting
Joshua Lewis (Huntsville, Ala.) who was hit by a pitch and two straight walks to load the bases. Lewis scored the lone run on the next at-bat off a groundout from
Albert Gonzalez (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

Malaki Roberts (St. Petersburg, Fla.) started on the mound for the Golden Tigers, working a four innings, allowing seven runs off eight hits and striking out five.
Robert Snead (Powder Springs, Ga.) and
Maizen Price (Charlotte, N.C.) also pitched out of the bullpen, with Snead working 1.2 innings, surrendering five off three hits, while Price worked 0.1 inning and struck out the only batter he faced.

Meanwhile, a pair of Tuskegee batters earned hits on the day including
Harrison Barnes (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Lewis, while five drew walks in the loss.

Tuskegee will return home for the first time in two weeks with a three-game series against Spring Hill over the weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday and the final game on Sunday. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 12 noon at Washington Field.
