ATLANTA, Ga. __ Tuskegee University's Ma'Kayla Jones has been named to the All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Second Team for her outstanding performance during the 2024 volleyball season, announced by the conference office on Thursday.
A dominant force as a middle blocker, Jones showcased her all-around skill set, making significant contributions on both offense and defense for the Golden Tigers.
Jones tallied an impressive 178 kills this season, finishing with a stellar .331 hitting percentage, one of the best in the conference. Her ability to deliver in key moments, paired with consistent efficiency, made her a standout in Tuskegee's offensive system.
Defensively, Jones was a game-changer at the net, recording 84 total blocks, including a season-high 11 blocks in a critical match against Kentucky State. Her defensive presence continually frustrated opponents, making her one of the most feared blockers in the SIAC.
Additionally, Jones displayed versatility throughout the season with 37 digs and 12 service aces, further highlighting her ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game. Her relentless work ethic and leadership on the court have been integral to the Golden Tigers' success this season.
As an All-SIAC Second Team honoree, Jones continues to elevate the standard of excellence for Tuskegee volleyball. Her recognition reflects her hard work and dedication, both on and off the court.
