MOBILE, Ala. __ Tuskegee men's tennis took home three more wins from Friday to Sunday, finishing the week 5-1, after winning five straight before a loss on Sunday to close weekend play at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
After the two wins on Thursday, the Golden Tigers (11-7) defeated LeMoyne-Owen (6-1) on Friday, before two sweeps on Saturday against Morehouse (7-0) and Fort Valley State (7-0), before a 7-0 loss to Spring Hill on Sunday.
Tuskegee 6, LeMoyne-Owen 1
The Golden Tigers took the doubles point in the match against the Magicians, winning on all three courts, as the pairings of
Torain Alleyne and
Eliyahu Pinkney and
Zamani Moyo and
Teryon Newbold-Hudson both took 6-1 wins on courts one and two, respectively. Meanwhile,
Jack Shaw and
Ty'lon Miller took a 6-0 win at No. 3.
Tuskegee then posted straight-set singles victories on courts one, two, four, five, and six, including not allowing a point between matches from
Keith Moultrie (No. 1), Pinkney (No. 2), and Miller (No. 6). Newbold-Hudson took a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 5 spot, while
Noah Johnson took a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Tuskegee 7, Morehouse 0
The three duos of Alleyne/Pinkney, Moyo/Newbold-Hudson, and Shaw/Miller came through again in the second match with wins of 7-5, 6-2, and 6-0, respectively.
Tuskegee then proceeded to win all six singles courts via straight sets. Moultrie took a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1, followed by a 6-2, 6-1 win from Pinkney at No. 2, 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3 from
Jack Shaw, and
Noah Johnson with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4. Meanwhile, Newbold-Hudson and Miller took 6-0, 6-0 wins on courts five and six.
Tuskegee 7, Fort Valley State 0
The Golden Tiger duo pairings won all three games again in the matchup against Fort Valley State with all three courts being won by the score of 6-1.
Tuskegee then secured the win with straight-set singles victories for the second time of the weekend that included a sweep from Alleyne on court six. Moultrie took a 6-3, 6-3 win at court one, followed by Shaw with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court two and a 6-1, 6-0 win on court three by Pinkney.
The final two points came from Johnson and Newbold-Hudson, by scores of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-4, respectively.
Spring Hill 7, Tuskegee 0
The double duos struggled against Spring Hill, as Alleyne/Pinkney and Brown/Moultrie both fell 6-4 at courts one and two, while Johnson/Newbold-Hudson fell 6-0 on court three.
The new duos of Dawson/Rodrigues and Schuknecht/Tetruashvili came through again in the second match with wins of 6-3 and 6-2, respectively. Spring Hill proceeded to win all six singles courts via straight sets.

The Golden Tigers will return home after a week off with a non-conference contest against West Georgia to start next month on Thursday, April 4. First serve is set to 2 p.m. at the Pepsico Tennis Courts.
