Preview: No. 2 Seed Tuskegee Men’s Tennis Set for SIAC Semifinal Showdown with Benedict

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The No. 2 seed Tuskegee men's tennis team is primed for postseason play as it heads to Peachtree City, Georgia, for the semifinal round of the 2025 Cricket SIAC Men's Tennis Championship.

The Golden Tigers will take on No. 3 seed Benedict at 10:00 a.m. ET on Friday, April 19 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.

ABOUT TUSKEGEE (9-7, 8-2 SIAC)
Tuskegee enters the semifinal with a 9-7 overall record and an impressive 8-2 mark in SIAC play, earning the No. 2 seed on the strength of a balanced lineup and clutch late-season performances.

The Golden Tigers closed out the regular season with a narrow 4-3 victory over Benedict earlier this month and will aim to repeat that result with a berth in the conference championship on the line.

Tuskegee is led in singles play by Kevin Eutsey, who owns a 10-2 record overall and a 7-1 mark in SIAC matches. Eutsey has primarily played on courts two and three, showcasing a reliable baseline game and mental composure.

He is followed by Zamani Moyo, who is 9-2 overall and undefeated (8-0) in conference singles matches, and Ty'lon Miller, who has an 8-5 record, including 7-1 in SIAC competition.

Collectively, the Golden Tigers boast a 45-29 overall singles record and a stellar .745 win percentage in SIAC singles matches, highlighted by their depth and versatility across all six courts.

In doubles, Tuskegee pairs have posted a 23-16 record and an outstanding 20-4 mark in league play.

The tandem of Eutsey and Miles Wilson has emerged as the team's most consistent, posting a 7-4 overall record and 7-1 in conference matchups.

The duo of Symon Brown and Zamani Moyo is also a reliable option, holding an 8-4 record (7-1 SIAC) on court three.

ABOUT BENEDICT (6-9, 6-4 SIAC)
Benedict enters the semifinal matchup with a 6-9 overall record and a 6-4 SIAC slate, earning the third seed despite an uneven start to the season.

The Tigers are anchored by Jason Chigaazira, who leads the team with a 10-5 singles record and an impressive 9–1 mark in conference play.

Anesu Kwirirai adds depth at the middle and bottom of the order, going 8-7 overall and 7-3 in SIAC play, while Divgurjot Singh has compiled a 7-7 overall mark with a 6-3 conference tally.

In doubles, Benedict has compiled a 22-22 overall record and a 19-11 mark in SIAC action.

The team leans heavily on its top pairing of Chigaazira and Munache Marume, who are 7-7 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

Meanwhile, Kwirirai and Singh hold an 8-5 record as a doubles duo, helping to secure key points throughout the season. However, Benedict has struggled in close matches, dropping tight 4-3 decisions to Tuskegee in both regular-season meetings.

Tuskegee's strengths lie in its consistency across all three doubles lines and its ability to close out matches in the later stages.

The Golden Tigers have won the doubles point in eight of their last 10 matches and have a winning record on all three courts.

With a potent blend of upperclassmen leadership and underclassmen energy, Tuskegee is aiming to return to the SIAC Championship final for the first time since their runner-up finish in 2023.

The semifinal winner will advance to the championship match on Saturday to face the winner of the No. 1 vs. No. 4 matchup.
