TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee baseball's bats were strong against Kentucky State on Saturday, but it was not enough as the Golden Tigers fell 14-7. KSU collected 11 hits, compared to six from TU in the contest.

The Thorobreds got on the board first in the opening inning after two runners got on the base paths and a three-run homer to right field to take an early lead.

Sophomore
Nicholas Pratt drew a walk to start the second and stole second during the next at-bat. Later in the inning with two outs, Pratt scored on a passed ball for the first Tuskegee score.

KSU added another run in the fourth before breaking the game open with four in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to a pair of hits and one TU error. The Thorobreds used an RBI double and scored a pair of runs of wild pitches to take an 8-2 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Pratt homered to center field to score three runs, making the score 8-5 as
Julian Grier and
Scott Williams led off the inning both reaching base safely. The Golden Tigers added another two runs in the seventh thanks to one hit and two errors from the home team to get within one run at 8-7.

Kentucky State responded with another four-run inning in the bottom of the frame, as the Thorobreds had an RBI double to score two and a two-run homer on consecutive at-bats with two outs in the seventh. They later added two more runs in the eighth for the 14-7 final.

Mikelle Mason started on the mound for Tuskegee, allowing six hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out four and walking eight.
Tyee Turner (1.1 innings) and
Cody Willis (1.2 innings) both made appearances out of the bullpen, allowing a combined five hits and six earned runs while strking out four.

Pratt drove the middle of the lineup on the day, leading the team with three runs batted in on a 1-for-4 day. The infielder also scored twice including the three-run homer.
Ryan Morrow, Williams were the other Golden Tigers to earn hits in the loss, with Williams driving in one run and scoring a run, while Morrow and
Brian Hardaway II both scored runs.
