Men’s Tennis Secures Two More SIAC Wins to Cap Day Two of Round-Up

MOBILE, Ala. – Tuskegee men's tennis continued its strong showing at the second SIAC Round-Up with a pair of impressive victories on Thursday, earning a 6-1 win over Morehouse and a thrilling 4-3 win over Benedict at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
 
With the two victories, the Golden Tigers improve to 8-6 overall and 7-2 in SIAC play.
 
Tuskegee 6, Morehouse 1
Tuskegee opened the day with a dominant win over Morehouse, sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the early point.
 
The pairing of Eliyahu Pinkney and Tyler Ladge earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 team of Kevin Eutsey and Miles Wilson cruised to a 6-0 win.
 
The Golden Tigers completed the sweep with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles from the tandem of Symon Brown and Zamani Moyo.
 
In singles play, Tuskegee continued to control the match with commanding performances across the lineup.
 
Moyo took a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court one, while Eutsey added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3. Wilson followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot.
 
Torain Alleyne added a straight set win at No. 4 (6-2, 6-1), and Ty'lon Miller earned a straight set victory on court six, taking the match 6-0, 6-0.
 
The lone point for Morehouse came at the No. 2 spot, where the Noah Johnson took a three-set loss (7-5, 4-6, 6-10).
 
Tuskegee 4, Benedict 3
In the second match of the day, Tuskegee outlasted Benedict in a tightly contested battle.
 
The Tigers again secured the doubles point thanks to strong efforts from Pinkney and Ladge at No. 1 (6-2) and and Eutsey and Wilson at No. 2 (6-4). Meanwhile, Brown and Moyo cruised to a 6-1 win at the third spot.
 
Singles action featured high stakes matches across all courts. Moyo continued his strong play on court one with a three-set win (2-6, 6-2, 10-6).
 
Eutsey earned another point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3, while Miller came through with a key 6-1, 6-3 win on court six.
 
Jack Shaw dropped his match at No. 2, falling 6-1, 6-2, while Wilson also fell in a straight set decision, and Alleyne was edged in three sets at No. 5 (6-3, 3-6, 7-10).
 
Tuskegee ultimately clinched the match with three singles wins and the doubles point.
 
With the second day of competition complete, the Golden Tigers are firmly in contention as one of the top teams in the SIAC standings.
