PUEBLO, Colo. – Tuskegee junior standout Shawn Jarrett II is set to represent the Golden Tigers on the national stage as he heads to the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo from May 22-24 at the ThunderBowl.
Jarrett qualified for the championships in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 51.09 seconds, a mark he achieved earlier this season during the SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
His performance not only captured a conference title but also secured him one of the top national qualifying spots in the event.
The 400-meter hurdles preliminaries are scheduled for Friday, May 23, at 7:55 p.m. MT (8:55 p.m. CT), with the top two finishers in each heat plus the next three best times advancing to Saturday's final.
Jarrett's qualification marks another milestone in what has been an impressive junior campaign.
Known for his explosive finishing speed and technical precision between hurdles, he has consistently posted top-tier performances in the event throughout the season.
His 51.09 time ranks among the top in NCAA Division II, and he enters the national meet with strong momentum and expectations.
The NCAA Championships will feature the best collegiate athletes from across the country, with CSU-Pueblo's ThunderBowl providing a high-altitude and fast surface venue that's expected to deliver elite performances.
Should he advance to the final on Saturday, May 24, he'll have the opportunity to bring home national hardware and further cement his place among the nation's elite hurdlers.
Live coverage of the championships, including heat sheets and results, will be available via NCAA.com and CSU-Pueblo's official athletics website.
