Box Score 2 ALBANY, Ga. | The Tuskegee University volleyball team split their final two matches on the final day of the SIAC Crossover, hosted by Albany State University on Saturday.
In the first match of the day, Tuskegee fell to Albany State 3-1.
Tuskegee was led by
Pamela Allen with 22 kills on 37 attempts, hitting .541 in the match. She was joined in double-digit kills by
Jamiah Breda-Nixon and
Jacqueline Wilson with 10 kills each. Breda-Nixon hit .259 in the loss with 27 total attempts, while Wilson hit .200 on 30 total attempts.
Zahria Radford led the way defensively with 13 digs, while
Angelique Watson added eight and
Morgan Scrivens seven in the loss. Scrivens also added a career-high 47 assists in the loss.
In the finale of the SIAC Crossover, the Tigerettes were able to close out with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) victory over Paine College.
In the victory, Tuskegee (8-6, 6-4 SIAC) was led by Allen with nine kills on 24 total attempts, while hitting .333. Breda-Nixon chipped in with seven kills on 18 attempts, hitting .111, while Wilson also added seven kills while hitting .087.
As a team, the Tigerettes finished hitting .154 as a team and holding Paine to just
-.021 hitting for the contest.
Scrivens had another 20-plus day with assists, as she recorded 20 asissts on the 29 kills that the Tigerettes registered in the victory.
Defensively, Radford led the way with 14 digs; while leading the way with three service aces in the victory.
Janae Graham added three service aces and three digs in the win.
Tuskegee returns to action Tuesday on the road in SIAC action, facing Spring Hill College at 6 pm. They will then return to Tuskegee for their first home match of the season Friday, October 2 against Stillman, beginning at 6 pm inside Chappie James Arena.
