TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University baseball team returns to Paterson Field for a three-game set with Spring Hill College, beginning with the Breast Cancer Awareness game Saturday afternoon.

Pre-game festivities begin at 11:30 am on Saturday morning, with first pitch scheduled for 12 noon.

Tuskegee (9-21, 5-7 SIAC) finds itself percentage points ahead of Kentucky State and LeMoyne-Owen for third place in the West Division standings with nine conference games remaining, and the top four teams receiving bids to the SIAC Baseball Championships in Ozark (Ala.) later this month.

Junior
Ricky Green leads Tuskegee in hitting this season at .329 with 26 hits in 79 official at-bats. The junior has eight extra-base hits this season, including his first homerun against Miles. He is currently sixth in the conference in on-base percentage at .467 through 30 games.

Freshman
Matthew Reed is second on the team in hitting, picking his average up to .320 with six extra-base hits this season. The catcher/designated hitter is second on the team in homeruns with two and fourth in RBI with 13.
Ryan Green (.310) and
Alexander Henderson (.302) are the only other hitters over .300 this season for Tuskegee, while
Elgin Woodside leads the team in RBI (19) and
Jalen Luter in homeruns (three).
Evan Kearse leads the team in stolen bases, and is currently sixth in the conference with 13.

On the mound,
Trey Nelson (3-2, 4.57 ERA) will get the ball in one of the games this weekend, leading the team in wins. All three of his wins have come in conference game, and the only conference game he did not pick up a win was in a no-decisision eighth inning loss to Miles last weekend.
Jordyn Thomas (2-1, 4.37 ERA, 1 sv) leads the team in earned run average, working 22.2 innings as a starter and reliever this season.

Meanwhile,
Joseph Mauldin (2-5, 8.02 ERA) leads the team in strikeouts with 44 in just 33.2 innings pitched. Seven different pitchers have appeared in eight games this season – leading the team.
