Reginald Hollins and his Tuskegee baseball team wrapped up a weekend home series on Sunday with an 11-8 win over Clark Atlanta at Washington Field, their third game of the series with double digit runs.
Â
Clark Atlanta started the scoring in the first, scoring a pair of runs in the opening inning before a response from Tuskegee (6-7, 6-2 SIAC) when
Jameson Eichelberger (McDonough, Ga.) drove in
Joshua Lewis (Huntsville, Ala.) with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Â
The Golden Tigers went on to take their first lead in the bottom of the second after
Raymond Henderson (Stone Mountain, Ga.) drilled a two-run homer, also scoring
Jaylen Hill (Jonesboro, Ga.). They added another run a few batters later after
Corey Stallings (Richton Park, Ill.) singled down the left field line to score Lewis, his second run of the game.
Â
The Panthers responded in the third by loading the bases and retook a 5-4 lead after a bases clearing double to score three, however the lead was not for long as Henderson doubled on a 3-1 count to score
Evan Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala.).
Â
Tuskegee later took the final lead of the game on the next at-bat as
Cody Willis (Montgomery, Ala.) earned a bunt single to score Hill, followed by another score from Henderson to extend the lead to 7-5. The Golden Tigers added another pair of runs in the fourth and eighth innings to end the Panthers' comeback hopes and took the series sweep with the 11-8 win.
Â
Hunter Hudson (Montgomery, Ala.) earned the win at the mound for the Golden Tigers, surrendering seven runs on seven hits over five innings and striking out four. DeAngelo Nowell threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.
