TUSKEGEE __ After spending all last week on the road, the Tuskegee baseball team will remain away from home this week, starting with a midweek non-conference contest against West Alabama.

Tuskegee went into Atlanta this past weekend and took one of three from Morehouse to drop the road conference series. The Golden Tigers ended up taking the final game of the Sunday, winning narrowly by a score of 7-6. TU had dropped the first two games of the series by scores of 16-4 and 6-2.
Nicholas Pratt continued to swing a hot bat for the Bulldogs, collecting four hits and three RBI versus the Maroon Tigers in the series. The infielder has upped his batting average to .333, the highest on the team, while also leading with eight hits and six runs batted in.
Scott Williams has also had early success, batting .316 through six games to go along with six hits, two doubles, and a tied with a team-high of four runs scored. Meanwhile,
Alex Glass,
Jabari Johnson,
Stephon Wright, and
James Slaughter all have five hits so far on the season.
West Alabama enters the midweek matchup at 6-5 and 1-2 in Gulf South Conference play. UWA went 3-1 to open the season in a home series against Missouri St. Louis and took a 2-1 series against Kentucky State the following weekend. The Tigers started conference play last weekend, losing the series to Union 2-1 on the road.

UWA is batting .237 as a team with 14 extra-base hits, including one home run. Houston Kitterman has the led the charge offensively for the Tigers, batting .361 with 13 hits, three doubles, nine runs scored, and nine RBI.Â

On the mound, West Alabama allows opponents to bat .237 at the plate, with a team ERA of 4.60.
