MOBILE, Ala. – The Tuskegee baseball team dropped a midweek non-conference matchup against the University of Mobile on Tuesday afternoon at Jacobs Field, falling 15-3.
With the loss, the Golden Tigers move to 6-15 overall, while Mobile improves to 16-10 on the season.
The Golden Tigers struggled to contain the Mobile offense, as the Rams posted multiple big innings to put the game out of reach.
Tuskegee tallied five hits in the contest but was unable to generate consistent run production against a strong pitching performance from the Rams.
Mobile wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice fly and a walk with the bases loaded.
The Golden Tigers worked through early trouble but limited further damage in the frame.
Tuskegee was held scoreless in the first three innings, struggling to find their rhythm at the plate against Mobile's starting pitcher Caleb Logerwell.
The Rams extended their lead in the third, exploding for eight runs in the inning to take a commanding 10-0 lead.
Mobile capitalized on walks and timely hitting, including an RBI double from Alexis Rodriguez and a two-run single from Bryce Eddingtin.
The Golden Tigers responded in the top of the fourth when Evan Jones singled and later came around to score on a fielder's choice, putting Tuskegee on the board at 10-1.
They continued to fight back in the fifth inning, adding two more runs after Scott Williams delivered an RBI single and Rodney Mudd II drove in another run with a groundout, cutting the deficit to 10-3.
Mobile regained momentum in the bottom of the sixth inning, tacking on five more runs to put the game out of reach at 15-3. The Rams continued to find success at the plate, highlighted by a two-run home run from Kline Smith and a two-run double from Reece Buck.
Tuskegee was unable to generate any further offensive production in the final innings, as Mobile's bullpen held them in check to secure the win.
James Slaughter led the Tuskegee offense, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two stolen bases, while Williams contributed by finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.
Jones added a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base to help the Golden Tigers' offensive effort.
On the mound, Daniel Williams Jr. earned the start, while Alandas Armistad pitched 3.2 innings of relief, allowing six earned runs while striking out three batters.
As a team, Tuskegee recorded five hits and three runs while drawing three walks. The Golden Tigers displayed aggression on the base paths, swiping four stolen bases in the game.
However, Mobile held the upper hand offensively, outhitting Tuskegee 12-5 and drawing 11 walks.
The Rams' pitching staff also combined for five strikeouts while limiting Tuskegee to a .185 batting average in the contest.

Tuskegee will look to regroup as they prepare for an upcoming SIAC series against Kentucky State this weekend with the goal of bouncing back from the midweek setback. The series starts with a Saturday doubleheader starting at 12 noon and closes on Sunday also at 12 noon.
