TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Scott Williams delivered a dominant performance at the plate, blasting two home runs and driving in six runs to power Tuskegee baseball past Morehouse 17-7 on Sunday.
Williams homered in both the first and fourth innings as the Golden Tigers' offense erupted for 15 hits in the high-scoring matchup.
Morehouse opened the scoring in the top of the first with a solo home run to left field by Elijah Pinckney. However, Tuskegee responded in the bottom half of the inning with a four-run outburst, highlighted by back-to-back home runs from Nick Pratt and Williams to take a 4-1 lead.
The Golden Tigers extended their lead in the second inning when
John Saffold doubled down the left field line to drive in another run, making it 5-1.
Tuskegee kept the pressure on in the third as Morehouse committed an error, allowing another run to score before
Jabari Johnson singled to center, plating another for a 7-1 advantage.
Tuskegee's offense exploded again in the fourth, pushing four more runs across.
Ryan Morrow laced an RBI single before Williams crushed his second home run of the game—a three-run shot to left field—giving the Golden Tigers an 11-1 cushion.
Morehouse tried to fight back, cutting into the deficit with a pair of runs in the fifth off another home run from Pinckney and a solo blast from James Thorpe in the sixth.
However, Tuskegee put the game out of reach in the bottom of the seventh, scoring six runs on three hits. Saffold and Barnes drew bases-loaded walks to force in two runs, followed by an RBI single from Morrow and a two-run double from Pratt to seal the 17-7 victory.
Mikelle Mason earned the win for Tuskegee, pitching three innings and allowing four runs on three hits while striking out one.
Isaiah Jones followed with four innings of relief, giving up three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Morehouse's Saivion Mohammed took the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits over 2.1 innings.
The Golden Tigers showcased their aggressive baserunning, stealing 16 bases in the game. Five different players—Lee, Morrow, Saffold, Johnson, and Pratt—recorded multiple steals.
Offensively, Morrow and Pratt led the way with three hits apiece, while Saffold and Johnson each added two hits. Tuskegee also displayed patience at the plate, drawing 12 walks, with Barnes, Saffold, Johnson, and Pratt each working two free passes.
For Morehouse, Pinckney finished 2-for-2 with a team-high three RBIs, while Thorpe also collected two hits.
With the win, Tuskegee wrapped up the weekend series with a strong offensive showing, setting the tone as they continue SIAC play.

The Golden Tigers will resume action next weekend in a road conference series against Mobile. The three-game series will open on Friday at 4 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
