Baseball Falls in SIAC Series Against Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala. __ Tuskegee baseball endured a tough weekend on the road as they dropped all three games in their SIAC series against Spring Hill.

The Golden Tigers move to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in conference play following the three-game set in Mobile, Alabama.

Spring Hill 15, Tuskegee 1
The series opener saw Tuskegee struggle to generate timely hitting as Spring Hill took an early lead and maintained control throughout the game.

The Golden Tigers fell behind in the first inning as Spring Hill plated two runs on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single.

Tuskegee responded in the third inning with a run when Ryan Morrow doubled down the left-field line, bringing in Jabari Johnson to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Spring Hill extended their lead in the fourth with a solo home run, and despite Tuskegee's efforts to keep the game within reach, the Badgers put up three more runs in the sixth inning to push the score to 6-1.

Alex Glass kept the Golden Tigers in the fight, adding an RBI double in the seventh to drive in James Slaughter, but the comeback fell short as Tuskegee left multiple runners stranded in scoring position.

On the mound, Amare Morgan took the loss, allowing three runs over five innings while striking out four.

Jerald Bush and Evan Jones contributed with strong defensive plays to limit Spring Hill's offense in the later innings.

Spring Hill 4, Tuskegee 3
The second game of the series was a tightly contested battle that came down to the final innings.

Tuskegee jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when J. Slaughter singled and later scored on a fielder's choice.

Spring Hill responded immediately with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.

The Golden Tigers tied the game in the third inning as Devon Lee delivered a clutch RBI single to score Morrow, making it 2-2. Tuskegee briefly took a 3-2 lead in the fourth when Johnson doubled and later scored on an RBI groundout.

However, Spring Hill rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring two runs off relief pitching to take the 4-3 victory.

Morgan started on the mound for Tuskegee, going five strong innings, allowing just two runs while striking out three.

Lee led the team offensively, collecting two hits and an RBI. The Golden Tigers' defense turned two double plays to help keep the game close, but their inability to capitalize on scoring chances proved costly.

Spring Hill 9, Tuskegee 5
In the series finale, Tuskegee mounted a late rally but ultimately fell short as Spring Hill used a big sixth inning to put the game away.

The Golden Tigers were held scoreless through the first four innings before breaking through in the fifth when Lee drove in Glass with a sacrifice fly.

Spring Hill responded with a five-run sixth inning, taking advantage of two Tuskegee errors and a three-run home run to break the game open.

The Golden Tigers clawed back in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs highlighted by a Scott Williams RBI double and a two-run single from Morrow.

However, Spring Hill tacked on insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings to secure the sweep.

Mikelle Mason started for Tuskegee, allowing three earned runs in four innings of work while striking out two.

Glass had a solid day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base.
