TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee baseball delivered a dominant performance at Washington Field on Saturday, sweeping both games of a doubleheader against SIAC opponent LeMoyne-Owen to open the final weekend series of the regular season.

The Golden Tigers took game one in a high-scoring battle, 22-12, before cruising to a 12-2 run-rule victory in game two.
Tuskegee 22, LeMoyne-Owen 12
In the opener, Tuskegee exploded for 17 hits and capitalized on 15 walks to overpower the Magicians in a marathon offensive showdown.

James Slaughter was electric at the top of the lineup, finishing 3-for-4 with five runs scored, two RBIs, and four stolen bases.

Devon Lee continued his red-hot stretch with a 4-for-6 performance, driving in four runs while also swiping four bases of his own.

Ryan Morrow added two hits and two RBIs, while
Scott Williams contributed two hits, including a towering home run, and drove in a pair.

John Saffold provided key production out of the middle of the lineup, going 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two stolen bases, while
Jahsha Stevens added two hits, including a triple.

Jabari Johnson, who also pitched in relief later in the game, scored three times and stole three bases.

Tuskegee's offense scored multiple runs in six different innings, breaking the game open with an eight-run sixth inning and a six-run seventh to pull away.

On the mound,
Mikelle Mason earned the win, tossing five innings while allowing four hits and three earned runs, despite working around nine walks.
Â
The win improved Mason's record to 7-6 on the season.

Johnson came on in relief to throw the final four innings, limiting LeMoyne-Owen to just one hit and two runs while securing the victory.

Game two saw a more controlled but equally dominant effort from the Golden Tigers.
Â
Tuskegee jumped ahead with one run in the second inning before breaking the game wide open with a four-run third and a six-run fifth to secure a 12-2 win in just five innings.

Williams once again delivered at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a double, triple, and home run to complete the cycle across the doubleheader.

Jacobi Brooks provided two hits, scored twice, and stole four bases, while
Samarion Ward added a two-RBI performance with a hit and a stolen base.

Slaughter added another hit, drove in a run, and stole two more bases, while Lee reached base three times, stole another base, and scored twice.

On the mound, freshman
Amare Morgan turned in a strong complete-game outing, tossing five innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs while striking out three to pick up his second win of the season.

Tuskegee's aggressive baserunning was again a major factor, as the Golden Tigers stole nine bases in game two alone.

With the doubleheader sweep, Tuskegee improved to 18-29 overall and 14-18 in SIAC play, while LeMoyne-Owen fell to 16-25 overall and 7-24 in conference action.

The Golden Tigers will close out the regular season on Sunday afternoon with the series finale against the Magicians, scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch at Washington Field.
